Another winner from Paul Lato, the 2020 Seabiscuit Pinot Noir displays a stunning medium ruby-colored core with a light brickish rim. It’s aged for 17 months in 50% new French oak barrels and produces notes of red raspberry, slightly cooked cranberry, potpourri, dried thyme, fresh red rose, Earl Gray tea, and a spec of milk chocolate. I adored the pink peppercorn and cedary herb finish that balanced perfectly with the luscious fruit, high acidity, and silky tannins. About 460 cases made.
