Foxen wines from the Sta. Rita Hills are always outstanding and this is now exception. Stunningly beautiful in the glass, featuring a bright neon ruby core with a blue and pink rim. The Fe Ciega is aged for 16 months in just 22% new French oak barrels and presents outstanding aromas of red raspberry, wild huckleberry, purple wildflowers, and an incredible expression of herbs that just spill from the glass. The palate is lush, clean, balanced, and absolutely delicious. Made more in a richer style but don’t let that deter you from seeking out a bottle and enjoying this wine over the next 8-10 years. Just 224 cases were made. Highly recommended and editor’s choice.
