Vines planted 50 years ago in the first vineyards in what would become the Sta. Rita Hills appellation, this old-vine Chardonnay is aged for 18 months in 15% new French oak, with the rest being neutral. Honey-toasted brioche, lemon curd, white grapefruit pith, toasted almonds, dried poultry herbs, and a touch of flint explode in the mouth. Lemony acidity, a beautiful full body, and an impressive length finish the wine. 338 cases produced.
