The 2017 Samantha's Cabernet Sauvignon from Rudd Estate is outstanding. This fantastic 100% Estate Cabernet Sauvignon spent 22 months in 63% new French oak and it opens to wonderful aromas of blackcurrants and hints of blue fruits which are laced with nuances of spices, violets, pencil shavings and tobacco which are underlined by shades of earthy tones which all come together beautifully in the glass. On the palate this possesses a gorgeous medium-plus to full body, with a nicely structured frame supported by well-polished tannins. It goes on to display excellent depth and concentration with outstanding overall balance all the way through the long, graceful finish. While this is already absolutely fantastic it also has the potential to thrive in the cellar and become even more impressive over the course of the next decade and even beyond.
