LIMERICK LANE Zinfandel, Russian River Valley ‘Banfield’ 2019

Vines planted in the 1880s produce the fruit from this Russian River Valley Zinfandel. It’s quite incredible to think about the fact that these vines are 140 years old and are still producing fruit for wines that only cost $62. It is aged for 17 months in 10% new French oak barrels and brings aromas of wild strawberry, purple flowers and a hint of cedar. The palate is incredibly balanced and displays flavors of black raspberry, red cherry, blood orange and five-spice. Acidity is perfect and the tannins are silky smooth. Drink this over the next 10 years. Only 242 cases produced.
