I admit that I am a sucker for Bedrock vineyard Zinfandels. These vines are over 150 years old and make some of the best wines coming out of Sonoma Valley. They are terroir driven and have so much depth and personality that I find myself looking for these wines to share with my wine-loving friends. Resting 17 months in neutral french oak barrels, this wine isn’t masked by any oak at all and only displays the beauty of the fruit and the vineyard. The incredible and clean winemaking doesn’t hurt either. Imagine notes of grilled black stone fruit, iodine, freshly tilled earth, chalky tannin, perfect acidity and lovely balance despite the almost 15% alcohol. Drink this over the next decade or more. Only 100 cases produced. Highly recommended.
