86% Zinfandel, 9% Petite Sirah, and 5% Syrah create this lovely blend that rests for 18 months in 11% new French oak barrels. It also has about 10% stem inclusion which gives it some added structure and tannin. A bit richer on the nose with more dark fruit notes shining through. Displaying a beautiful black pepper, graphite and smokey note to the nose, it also unfolds similarly on the palate. Acidity is medium plus and tannins are present but silky smooth. It’s an elegant and interesting wine that should last for another 8-9 years.
