GARY FARRELL Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley ‘Hallberg Vineyard’ 2018

Whole-cluster fermentation was used on this phenomenal Pinot Noir from the Hallberg vineyard in the Russian River Valley, which gives the wine some added structure and depth on the palate. 40% new French oak and 15-month aging, gives just the right about of spiceness to the wine. Displaying medium-ruby in the glass with a lovely fluorescent rim, the nose is clean and expressive with red cherry, blue plum, milk chocolate, orange zest, tilled earth, and Earl Gray tea characteristics. Elevated acidity, silky tannins and medium bodied on the palate, it’s a more lean-style of Pinot Noir that has the stuff to age for a decade or longer. 1079 cases produced.
