Another reductive Chardonnay that I absolutely loved. 9 months in 35% new French oak barrels on its primary lees produces added weight and a full texture. Lemon drop candy, fresh yellow nectarine, marzipan, crushed volcanic rock, toasted baking spice, and just a touch of dried sage notes are perfectly integrated. I find the Rochioli slightly more balanced on the palate than the Durell Vineyard Chardonnay with this one exploding with racy acidity, a medium to full-body, and a wonderful mineral and herbaceous finish. 449 cases produced.
