Always one of my favorites year after year, the 2020 1910 Block showcases a deep purple core with a purple rim and emanates aromas and flavors of red cherry, wild blueberry, black plum, pencil shavings, toasted white peppercorn, blood orange pith, white tobacco leaf, and candied rose petal. Decadent and rich on the palate, it drinks more like a high-quality Cabernet than a Zinfandel, with racy acidity, grippy tannins, a full body, and a lovely earthy and fruit-driven finish that goes on for ages. It’s incredibly young and needs another few years in the bottle before enjoying but then treat yourself over the next decade or more. Best in 2024. The quality-to-price ratio here is insane. Highly recommended.
