PAUL HOBBS Chardonnay, Russian River Valley ‘Ross Station Estate’ 2019

One of the first Chardonnay vineyards that Paul planted in 2007, it’s a hillside vineyard that faces southwest and receives a lot of sun. Spending 15 months in barrel, on about 30% new French oak, this wine is a more plush and rich Chardonnay from winemaker Jenny Murphy. Aromas of ripe yellow peach, fresh pine nuts, Christmas spices, button mushrooms, and loamy earth jump from the glass. An expansive and round mouthfeel merges with rich acidity to construct the earthy, creamy, and spicy finish. Enjoy this one over the next decade; it will be a lot of fun to see what this turns into over the years. Just 400 cases produced. Highly recommended.
