The 2019 Hallberg Vineyard Pinot Noir from Gary Farrell saw 40% new French oak for 15 months and a large percentage of stems used during fermentation which gives it some added structure and tannin. Displaying a stunning neon ruby core with a blueberry rim in the glass, a perfume of huckleberry, dark cherry, licorice root, forest herbs, milk chocolate, and wet autumn leaves pops on the nose. It’s all Russian River Valley with lovely purity of fruit and that earthy meaty finish that I love in these wines. Excellent acidity and smooth rounded tannins complete the wine. 1094 cases were made.
