DELILLE CELLARS White Wine, Columbia Valley 'Chaleur Estate Blanc' 2018

Always consistently one of the great white wines made in Washington, the 2018 ‘Chaleur Estate Blanc’ is a sensational effort by the talented Jason Gorski. Right out of the gate this shows toasty oak that wraps around the bright citrus zest, honeydew melon and cashew nut and wild mushroom undertones that all meld together in the glass. The palate is silky smooth, revealing a soft, supple mouthfeel. Bright lemongrass, Bosc pear, and shades of kumquat infused vanilla cream flavors all marvelously sing in harmony on the palate. The viscosity and richness of the wine shows better at a warmer temperature. A long-ager, I can see this beautiful effort cellaring well for decades, picking up tertiary tones as it evolves.
