This blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Malbec and 1% Petit Verdot comes from the Southwind Vineyard in Milton Freewater. It offers classic Cabernet blackberry, cassis, black tea, tobacco, graphite, dark chocolate and toasted baking spice notes. It carries a bit of earthy funk on the nose that I find astoundingly compelling. It is incredibly pure, perfectly layered and has enough tannin, acid and fruit to age for another 15-20 years. Please give this at least 3 years before opening or an 8 hour decant for the best experience. It’s a gorgeous wine.
