DEVISON VINTNERS Red Wine, Columbia Valley ‘Above the Flood’ 2019

Starting off a bit reductive on the nose, it evolves nicely in the glass where in a blind, where I would probably call this a Chateauneuf du Pape. A lovely combination of 48% Grenache, 34% Syrah and 18% Mourvedre that is sourced from two of my favorite vineyards, Boushey and Weathereye, and aged for 16 months in French barrels. Scrumptious notes of boysenberry, kirsch liqueur, cracked black pepper, dried thyme, pencil shavings, wet earth and some smokey incense gives way to a decadent, full-bodied, yummy wine that has loads of fruit, texture and balance. It’s an absolutely stunning wine that I highly recommend.
