Incorporating 2% Viognier, this tooth staining Syrah from Walla Walla Vintners hits all the right notes. Spending 18 months in neutral oak, and comprised of 30% whole cluster, it gives up aromas of violets on the nose. Fine and settled tannins provide a wonderful, velvety mouthfeel. Asian plum, black raspberry, blackberry, and teriyaki beef are all present early. Mid-palate through finish you are introduced to concentrated anise, charcoal, and slight pepper. The 45 second finish continues to showcase this complex and seamless effort that is a great value in Washington Syrah. Approachable now, this beauty has 20 good years ahead of it.
