Aged for 14 months in 70% new French oak barrels, the 2021 Flagship Syrah from Dossier is another standout wine from this new winery. Displaying a dark purple core with a strawberry-colored rim in the glass, it boasts notes of black and blue plums, Christmas spice, dried tarragon, crushed black olives, a touch of tar, baking chocolate, and bacon fat. Acidity checks in on the medium to high side; it’s full-bodied, and presents sweet crunchy tannins while ending with a long meaty finish. Only 495 cases were produced.
