AVENNIA Cabernet Sauvignon, Columbia Valley ‘Sestina’ 2020

A mélange of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, and 6% Cabernet Franc that was fermented in 60% concrete and aged 21 months in 50% new French oak. With a shimmering dark ruby-purple core with a neon pink rim in the glass, this stunning left-bank Bordeaux-styled wine boasts lovely notes of black plum, blackberry cassis, wild blueberries, tobacco leaf, licorice root, ground cinnamon, and wet earth. Sweet and rounded tannins are already starting to integrate wonderfully into the spine of the wine, while the perfect levels of acidity keep things interesting. It finishes with a blue and black fruit finish with ample amounts of spice lingering on the mid-palate. 388 cases were made. Highly recommended.
