Beautiful platinum yellow in color and composed of 78% Chenin Blanc, 9% Viognier, 7% Roussanne and the rest Gewürztraminer and Sauvignon Blanc, the 2022 Kiona Chenin Blanc Old Vines is an absolute killer value. It possesses a nose of slight violets and guava and has a wonderful mouthfeel on entry. It is clean, crisp and has spot on acidity. Pear, mango, grapefruit rind and a kiss of sweetened lemon/lime syrup are all woven together seamlessly. This is a great blending effort and so refreshing. I’d gladly drink this enjoyable wine on a summer day anytime over the next five years.
