GPR stands for “Glass Pour Rhone” and the 2021 checks in at 60% Syrah and 40% Grenache. It’s a killer bottle of wine for under $30 and one that is starting to show up in great restaurants more frequently. More spicy and earthy than previous vintages, with notes of toasted peppercorn, tilled earth, grilled ribs, wet clay, cedary herbs, and hints of black licorice. A medium-bodied mouthfeel pairs with the gorgeous acidity into a wonderfully elegant and earthy finish.
