The 2020 Walla Walla Vintners Cabernet Sauvignon Old Vines is a wonderful wine. Spending 22 months in 65% new French oak, it has a sense of softness courtesy of the 15% Merlot added. Deep violet in color, it has a full-bodied structure and fine, mouth coating, tannins. Blackberry, black cherry, tobacco, and licorice are all present early. With time in the glass, it continues to become more rounded and complex. Slight cocoa nib makes an appearance later in the game leading to a wonderful finish. Give this finessed wine a year in the cellar and then it should drink well for another 15 years.
