Deep brooding purple core with a fluorescent purple rim in the glass, the 2020 Conner Lee Reserve Merlot was aged in 75% new French oak. At first blush, you are hit with those fantastic black cherry and dust-covered plum aromas, which move into secondary aromas and flavors of white tobacco leaf, milk chocolate shavings, black tea, licorice root, and wet earth. Complex and interesting, it finishes with firm tannins and crunchy acidity. Better in 2024. Just 100 cases were produced.
