DEVISON Syrah, Royal Slope ‘Phantom Lamb’ 2021

Presenting a medium to dark purple core with a fluorescent purple rim in the glass, this meaty, savory Syrah was fermented with 33% whole clusters and was aged for 20 months. Aromas of crushed blackberries, savory herbs, smoked brisket, eucalyptus, powdered graphite, and espresso powder hit the nose hard and don’t let go. White grapefruit and bitter components fall on the mid-palate, while the crunchy tannins and lemony acidity complete the wine. It needs 2 more years in the bottle before enjoying, but after that, enjoy for 15 years plus. 100 cases made. Highly recommended.
