COTE BONNEVILLE Red Blend, Yakima Valley ‘Estate DuBrul Vineyard 2015

The 2015 Estate DuBrul Red Blend is the flagship offering from Cote Bonneville, all sourced from the famed DuBrul Vineyard. This fantastic wine is composed of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. Inky purple in color, this wine welcomes you with aromas of sweet tobacco and blue fruit. With an elegant mouthfeel and perfectly settled fine tannins, the entry is quite spectacular. Blackberry, black raspberry, and sweet tar appear early, followed by blackberry pipe tobacco and licorice root mid-palate thru finish. There are so many juxtapositions in my notes; elegant but powerful, refined but flirty, shy but sexy. This is a seamless, weightless offering that is in a great place right now but can easily shine for another 20 years. Kudos to the talented Kerry Shiels on this special wine.
