COPAIN Pinot Noir, Anderson Valley ‘Les Voisin’ 2017

Very new-world in style and just plain delicious, this Copain Pinot Noir ‘Les Voisin’ rests for 15 months in 10% new French oak and comes in at 13.2% alcohol. Lovely aromas of black raspberry, black plum, crimini mushroom, sandalwood and toasted allspice fill the glass. High acidity balanced well with the medium sweet tannins. The flavors of candied black fruit, cherry cola (in a good way), forest floor and old leather hit your palate and stay for ages. I don’t think this is a wine to cellar for decades, but over the next 8 years or so, you are in for a treat. 1900 cases produced.
