My favorite of the 2018 Pinot Noirs from Gary Farrell, this Fort Ross Vineyard is an absolute gem and sees 40% new French oak for 15 months. A complex nose of black tea, wet earth, white mushroom, tangerine oil, wild mountain blueberry and ground clove fill the glass. Medium-bodied, ripe tannins, racy acidity with a round elegant texture and an endearing, complex, yet drinkable style, it’s incredibly well-made and worth seeking out a few bottles for your cellar. Enjoy this in a year or two and then hold for another decade. 607 cases produced.
