This Pinot Noir from Larue comes from the Thorn Ridge Vineyard, located just west of the town of Sebastopol. It begins to impress with its pretty aromatics that are led by wild dark cherries, potpourri, sweet spice, crushed gravel, gardenia and spring flowers that jump from the glass. On the palate this has explosive flavors of dark and red berries, spice and earthy flavors. It is round, pure and silky with great balance. This wine is fantastic today, especially with some extended air contact and will develop over the next decade plus.
