With fruit coming from the famed Gap’s Crown Vineyard, this scintillating Chardonnay from Sojourn is always one of my favorites year after year. A medium golden lemon core with a watery rim displays beautifully in the glass. I wasn’t given any tech sheets on this wine, but my assumption is that it sees about 30% new French oak because of the richness and delicious baking spice notes I get on the back palate. Notes of ripe yellow apple, white peach, honey-coated pear, dried sage, and crushed rock minerality explode in the mouth. Exceptionally balanced, it finishes long with fantastic purity of fruit. Highly recommended.
