Resting for 20 months in 33% new small French oak barrels the 2019 Vogelzang Cabernet from Foxen boasts notes of boysenberry, blue plum, red cherry, melted milk chocolate, mocha powder, toasty green peppercorn, and green olive tones. Earthy and spicy on the finish, the tannins are a touch harsh at the present, so give this a few years in the bottle before enjoying. Better in 2024. 297 cases produced.
