Aged for 15 months in 50% new French oak barrels, this medium ruby core Pinot Noir comes from the vineyards just right outside the gorgeous tasting room of Domaine Serene. Much richer on the nose and on the palate than its siblings, the nose displays baked strawberry, sugared cinnamon, cloves, red rose, and a touch of pine needle. One of my favorite wines on the nose because it constantly changes over the 15-20 minutes in the glass - it’s surprisingly complex. The palate is red and blue fruit dominant with additional components of toasted Asian spices, graphite and some toasted cedar. Rich, medium to full-bodied, and wonderfully concentrated, give it another year or two in the bottle but should keep through 2030.
