The mainstay Chardonnay from Domaine Serene, the Evenstad Reserve in 2020, delivers in spades. Boasting notes of yellow apple, wet white clay, and dried sage, with slight hints of dried peppermint, yellow flowers, and toasted almonds, it takes a few minutes to coax the nose to shine, but with a bit of oxygen, it really opens up nicely. Lemony acidity and a citrus and tree fruit finish hit the mid-palate, while the herbaceousness of the wine lands on the back palate. Another beautiful flagship wine from the estate.
