LANGE Pinot Noir, Dundee Hills ‘35th Anniversary’ 2021

Winemaker Jesse Lange outdid himself with his 2021 35th Anniversary Pinot Noir. I have had the privilege of trying this wine two times - once at dinner with Jesse and now at home. Both times, this wine has shown beautifully and could be the best wine I’ve had from the estate. Perfect on the nose, the aromas hit and dont’ stop - think fresh black cherries, crushed red raspberries, toasted walnut shells, lemon pith, dried cedary herbs, dried blueberries, and sweet cinnamon stick. Plush and elegant on the palate with a warm and inviting mouthfeel, and boisterous but restrained flavors of red and blue fruits alongside shades of dusty earth and dried thyme. Tannins are round and sweet and the acidity is absolutely perfect. Highly recommended and editor’s choice.
