The 2021 Cote Sud Vineyard Chardonnay comes from old vine Dijon clones planted in 1986 and showcases a light shimmering lemon core with a watery rim in the glass. Notes of wet clay minerals, lemon blossoms, white flowers, and cinnamon spice are opulently presented. Racy acidity meets white peach, blanched almonds with a bitter, herbaceous note on the finish. Concentrated with a rich backbone, it’s round on the palate with a lengthy finish. Only 191 cases were made. Highly recommended and editor’s choice.
