DOMAINE SERENE Pinot Noir, Dundee Hills ‘Triple Crown Vineyard’ 2021

My second favorite wine of the lineup, the 2021 Triple Crown from Domaine Serene presents a medium ruby-blue core with a fluorescent pink rim. It starts off delicate on the nose with those lovely lavender flowers and saline notes but quickly builds into a more aggressive wine with flavors of freshly cut blue plums, crushed black cherries, burnt orange, cedary herbs, powdered chocolate, and gobs of lovely umami tones. Tannins are rounded and silky smooth while the acidity is elevated just enough to keep everything in balance. You will love the earthy and blue-fruited finish that goes on forever. Highly recommended and editor’s choice.
