PURPLE HANDS Pinot Noir, Yamhill Carlton ‘Shea Vineyard’ 2022

Resting 10 months in 30% new French oak, the 2022 Shea Vineyard Pinot Noir from Purple Hands pours a gorgeous medium neon ruby core with a lighter pink rim. It possesses a unique personality that slowly opens to notes of crushed huckleberries, marionberries, sweet spice, crushed gravel, and purple flower petals. There are enough tannins and balanced acidity that this Pinot should cellar well for the next 10 years. You can taste the terrier in the wine with old vines planted in the early 1990s. 644 cases were produced. Highly recommended and editor’s choice.
