An absolutely gorgeous 100% Cabernet Sauvignon coming from the Red Mountain AVA in Washington, this wine is aged in 60% new French oak barrels. It’s dark and brooding in the glass and despite the almost 15% alcohol, is very balanced and fresh. The intoxicating nose delivers powerful aromas of smokey dark fruits, Napa leather, dark baking chocolate, mountain wild sage and rustic tobacco leaf. On the palate, the wine is decadently balanced in structure, acidity and fruit. The blackberry and black plum flavors dance on tongue and go on for ages. Secondary characteristics of crushed slate, leather, sweet baking spices and cigar box complete this wine that drinks well now, but will be even more beautiful in 3-5 years. It’s everything I love in a Washington Cabernet at an incredible price point. Only 500 cases produced, so buy some now before they disappear. Highly recommended.
