Another multi-vintage wine from Kiona, the Cyclops is a GSM blend of 67% Syrah from 2018 and 2019, 11% Grenache from 2018, and 22% Mourvedre from 2019. Baked cinnamon plums, wet autumn leaves, crushed black peppercorn and green olive notes are present. The mouthfeel is lovely with perfect acidity and balance. Saline and cedary herbs hit the back palate on the finish. It’s a fun wine and one that I would never turn down. I cannot wait to see what the team at Kiona does with these MV wines in the future.
