The Malbecs coming out of Red Mountain from several different wineries are some of my favorites from Washington. A blend of 86% Malbec with the rest being Cabernet Franc that is aged for 22 months in 50% new French oak displays deep purple with a neon rim in the glass. The nose sports aromas of spiced black cherry, bramble, purple rose, toasted cinnamon stick, mocha, and wild mountain sage while the palate bursts with flavors of blue and black fruit and cedary herbs. Wonderful acidity and an herbaceous and mineral finish complete the wine. Only 150 cases produced.
