Fruit that comes from all 5 of the Hedges Estate vineyard blocks is an interesting combination of 43% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Syrah, and 7% Malbec with the rest being small portions of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Souzao, Touriga, and Tinta Cao. It sees 61% American oak and 39% French oak, at about 50% new during aging. Lovely notes of Christmas spiced plum, blackberry, coconut, vanilla, baking spice, and cedar form the core of this wine that way over-delivers for the $25 price point.
