CORLISS Syrah, Red Mountain ‘Estate’ 2018

Fermented with 3% Viognier to give the 2018 Estate Syrah from Corliss some lovely aromatics, this one is aged for 23 months in 46% new French oak puncheons. It’s pure Red Mountain in style with scrumptious notes of boysenberry, mountain sagebrush, ripe blueberries, cedary herbs, saline, wildflowers, and cracked peppercorn. Rounded tannins combine perfectly with the medium-plus levels of acidity and full body. On the finish, you are treated with an interesting bacon fat and scorched earth note on the back palate. Another lovely Syrah from the team at Corliss. 280 cases produced. Highly recommended.
