Composed of 86% Sauvignon Blanc and 14% Semillon, the 2022 Kiona Sauvignon Blanc is 100% barrel fermented, with 15% by total volume aged in new French oak. Platinum yellow in color, it possesses aromas of lemongrass and slight carnations. On the palate it carries a little heat and lots of acidity early but settles down quite a bit with time in the glass. Tart Granny Smith apples, kiwi and kaffir lime are all present throughout. As it rounds out with more air, it shows a mature and classy side. Let this one cellar for a year or two and then enjoy over the following 5 to 7 years.
