The 2022 Rose of Sangiovese from Kiona is a wonderful wine and one of the better Washington Rose’s from this vintage. Possessing the lightest rose/platinum hue and almost too pretty to drink, it has a nose of candied pear and kiwi. This wine hits the palate with a clean, crisp mouthfeel and possesses great acidity. There is plentiful pink grapefruit on the entry, while rind of both lemon and lime, tangerine and a hint of pineapple join the party early. Absolutely refreshing, nectarine and slight peach pit evolve mid-palate through the finish. It keeps its vitality and youthfulness throughout the process. A crowd pleaser for sure and a spectacular value, drink over the next five years.
