The 2019 Klipsun Cabernet showcases a glowing dark purple core with a brickish rim. An expressive nose of black currant, black plum, mountain sage, brown mushrooms, dusty earth, tangerine pith, and hints of tar. It’s still a baby, with the palate gifting racy acidity, crunchy sweet tannins, and flavors of crushed blackberry, red cherry, peppery spice, and shades of leather. There is a spicy, black-pepper note on the back palate on the finish. Well-crafted and absolutely delicious, this has the stuff to age for 15-20 years with proper cellaring. Highly recommended. Better in 2024.
