Deep purple in hue, with aromas of slight plum, this wine is old world in style and possesses a sense of style and grace. It sports an inviting entry of settled tannins at this young age. Mulberry, black currant, Chambord and pinecone greet you on entry. Slight menthol and mild tobacco join in mid-palate, with no one component overpowering the other. This wine just seemed to have everything in its right place. As it cruised to the finish, it flashed slight fig, which was a pleasant surprise. This wine affords a wonderful journey from entry through finish. No need to delay gratification, this is ready now and should cruise for 15 additional years.
