This beautiful Syrah spent 18 months in new French oak, 25% being new. Needing some time in the glass before a bit of reduction blows off, the wine opens up to a wonderful aroma of dark berries, mocha powder, cassis, and white pepper. The incredibly fragrant nose leads to a palate filled with ripe black fruits, dried meats, red flower petals and sweet clove and perfectly integrated tannins. The alcohol is higher than previous vintages but the wine doesn’t show it at first blush. 18 months in new French oak, 25% is new. Just 346 cases of this wine are available.
