A blend of 92% Syrah and 2% Viognier rests 20 months in 33% new French oak barrels. The first thing you notice with this Syrah is the incredible bright, violet purple color in the glass - it is truly a beautiful wine to stare at. The gorgeous nose explodes with dried violet, crushed black peppercorn, blackberry and hints of vanilla. Bountiful acidity sticks to your palate and then transforms into flavors of wet earth, green olive and black fruits. Tannins are structured and present, but not overpowering. Please give this wine 2 years in bottle or so before enjoying, to let the wine settle and become more balanced, and then enjoy over the next decade or more. The potential is there. Only 330 cases produced.
