Medium to dark ruby-purple in the glass, this one is aged for 19 months in 20% new French oak. Coming from the famed Bien Nacido Vineyard, it’s richer and more decadent in style than its sibling. Black spiced cherry, blue plum, huckleberry pie, fresh thyme, crushed pink peppercorn, and umami notes abound. Alcohol is high at 15.3%, and you can definitely feel it, but the balanced hand of the winemaker has turned it into a spectacular Grenache with mouthwatering acidity, and a lovely dark cherry and peppery finish. Just four barrels produced.
