41% new French and Hungarian oak puncheons were used for about 18 months of aging on the 2019 Tinaquaic Vineyard Syrah. More blue-fruit driven than the Williamson-Doré feels younger and a touch fresher on the palate. Wild mountain blueberry compote, spiced blue plum, black olive tapenade, sweet earth and spice, and dried lilacs are all present in the glass. Grippy tannins and moderate acidity form the core of the wine, while it finishes with an interesting pepper-focused finish. Better in 2024. Only 350 cases made.
