An amazing historic vineyard, the R.W. Moore Vineyard was originally planted to Napa Valley Zinfandel in 1905, as the vineyard survived World Wars I and II, Prohibition, and the Great Depression then was passed through a series of owners. The 2016 Zinfandel shows a nice combination of blue and red fruits on the nose with earthy undertones and a touch of smoke. The palate displays notable weight and freshness with black tea, wild blackberry cobbler and a touch of milk chocolate. Seamless and delicious, this is an outstanding effort.
