The scintillating 2020 Nathan Coombs Estate Cabernet Sauvignon sports a deep dark purple core with a neon purple rim in the glass. This is an elegant yet explosive bottle of Cabernet that caught my attention and wouldn’t let go. Ripe black plum, baked boysenberry pie, pencil shavings, toasted clove, cedary herbs, black licorice, tilled earth, and mocha powder notes are all found. But give it a few minutes, and it will change and evolve with air. It’s complex, interesting, and wonderful. Rounded tannins, medium plus acidity, and a black fruit and spice-driven finish complete the wine. 470 cases were crafted of this gorgeous wine. Highly recommended and Editor’s Choice.
